Parental Torch

Hi Dad
Maybe I don’t tell you often enough, but I have learned a lot from you over the years.
There is a saying by an anonymous person, that goes like this “Children start out by loving their parents.  Then, they judge them.  Sometimes they forgive them.”
I was trying to think of the biggest lesson that you’ve taught me.  Of all the things that came to my mind, being grateful is something that sticks out.
We didn’t have a lot growing up, but knowing what I know now, we had a lot.  We had each other.  We had a nice home.  We always had food.  I was never bored or cold or lonely.  Having what I have now, which was and still is, the complete freedom to be who I am and do what I want, is a direct result from what you (and Mom) did for us as kids.  You never taught us to be afraid of failure (I’ve done that plenty).  You weren’t afraid to show how imperfect life really can be (if you had been, I’d feel like a failure now as a parent).  I used to be angry that my parents were divorced…I would blame you and Mom for not having the guts to make it work.  When I got older, I saw that it could have been much worse, and that even though you went your own ways, it did not stop me from setting goals and accomplishing them.  I am who I am because of me now.  Parents give their kids two important things: roots, and wings.  You and Mom did a great job at both. I hope that you know that, and more importantly that you know that I know that, too.
I love you.

IN A RARELY SEE DISPLAY of EMO, DarkClarity gave permission to reprint his response to the above email from his eldest daughter. ENJOY

Good Morning JJ,

"...and the top of the day to you, Darling Daughter," How does one respond to their child's written gratitude?
Answer, 'from the heart.' Thank you for such a lovely note.

We certainly had many good times raising three wonderful child even if it was cut short. Oops! Extra credit for mom.
The far away gas station, rolling coaster way, camp outs and toasted marsh-mellows in the driveway.

Children are like hockey pucks sliding across the icy flow. You just have to adjust the travel with a wooden stick from
time to time, or at least make them think that you will.

Some of the most valuable things to give to your child is your own wit and wisdom' whatever yours may be.
Secondly, free their mind from the constraints of this convoluted society and that is most a surely, unfair.
Maintain humility inside at all times and to point out the silver spoons of the world and make them pay dearly.
Everyone is responsible for their actions, period.
Thirdly, teach a child to choose other wise they will be swift boated. (Johnny blue, Lnzy?)

Fourth, compassion. Hand in hand with Humility. Respect of one's self, elders and the dead. Basically, no explanation needed, just "Protect the eye of heaven", just ask Amita, Allah, JC or whom ever.

Of course there is much more than this short list. Pay attention enough to be one
ahead of them, they will follow, for you are their god at first, take the role with out fear.
Lastly, protect them and do a good job because Selem is my grandson.

Love, Da

Olympic Bush

Never stops  amazing me. Bush, is a guess in Beijing during an event which is suppose to be free of politics. What does the moron do? He pressed his Olympic hosts Sunday to permit greater political and religious freedom, warning Chinese leaders they can expect to hear similar blunt talk from his successor. Class cowboy, real class. How did America put him in office to begin with. Oh yea, he cheated

I wish Hu Jintao  would say what about Guantanamo Bay or something. Oh they are not humans, they are terrorist.  True enough, religion terrorist just as bush is. Department of faith? dissidents jailing. Doesn't America have a disproportionate of incarceration ? Hello? When will this illusion end?

Is there a gold medal for blunt asshole-ism?

note, how he is squeezing the hand, which is considered rude in China.

America's unemloyment rate reached a four-year high of 5.7% this pass month [July] as the big boys cut 51,000 jobs.
This brings the tally to 5.7 from the 5.5 in June. That makes the 7th straight month of job lost with no change in site.
Yes, the "credit crunch" is blamed.  It may not have been as bad as predicted because payroll cuts weren't as deep.
That's a total of 463,00 jobs so far this year. The teen rate now stands at 20.3% -ouch, just like in papa Bush's term in 1992. Good job dub-ya! Daddy loves you now.
It is no wonder the economy is the most important thing on voters minds, not whether there is a flag on the back of an nominees airplane. LOL

GM is rumored to sell the Hummer in face of it's 15.5 billion 2nd quarter loss. 3rd biggest loss in GM's history while it moves forward with it's restructing process.
Ford annouces to make fuel efficient cars instead of cars. Why has it taken them this long to figure THAT one out? Duh.
Chrysler are among the the job cutters as well as Wahchovia and Cox.
One more set of numbers: the number of total Counted unemployed this year from last is 8.8 / 7.1 million. Yet the average worker saw a
.3% increase in pay while inflation streaks pass by higher energy cost. The fed did not drop the the rate so, inflation is not the worry. A pay check is.

170 days of W to go!
Unless of course you vote for McCain, and expect the same!
